WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are seeking an Independent Advertising Sales Professional with interest and knowledge in the magazine advertising industry for our publication:

  • Nashville-area’s leading affluent lifestyle publication for people who visit, work and live in Nashville-area country club neighborhoods. The magazine features Nashville’s finest in interior design, real estate, fine dining, and luxury item goods; or
  • Other custom magazines targeted for a client’s brand. Our brands are mostly related to organizations and associations in the nonprofit sector, ranging from social services to the arts and education.

WHAT DO YOU GET?

You will earn a generous sales commission rate of 10 to 34 percent. With unlimited earning potential, the average salesperson will earn between $45K and $60K per year.  The above average salesperson will have annual earnings starting at $80K per year. You’ll be given an opportunity to develop professional-level skills.  The commission structure is designed to reward consistent sales and relationship building.  The Independent Advertising Sales Professional may be asked to contribute campaign ideas to the magazine.  If needed, we will educate the exceptional candidate about industry trends who have the right sales skills. We will provide sales sheets, media kits, and other sales-related collateral.  Flexible hours.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

General computer literacy as well as written and oral communication skills is required.  Must be energetic, enthusiastic, able to multi-task, and able to work independently.  The Independent Sales Professional will be responsible for own transportation and sales-related expenses like Internet access and postage. Most business can be done through email and telephone. Honesty and good ethics are expected. Also, ad sales experience for new publications is highly preferred.

WHAT DOES IT INVOLVE?

The position involves selling, researching, fact-checking, meeting personal and organizational goals, cold calls, some follow-up, and other advertising sales duties as needed.  It also involves contact with local businesses of all sizes, restaurants, organizations, luxury brands, and special events.
